One kitchen, one pair of hands
Butterleaf Bakehouse is a home bakery in Nr. Taksh Galaxy Mall, Ankhol, Vadodara. Setu bakes everything herself, to order, which is both the reason it tastes the way it does and the reason we ask for a couple of days’ notice.
It started with a tin that kept emptying
Setu baked for family first — a chocolate sponge for birthdays, rasmalai cake when there was something to celebrate. Enough people asked to buy one that saying no started to feel silly.
Nothing is made in advance
Every order is bought for, baked and finished in the days before it reaches you. It's slower and it limits how much we can take on, but a cream cake that sat in a display case is a different thing entirely.
Real ingredients, no substitutions
Butter, not margarine. Fresh cream, not whipped topping. Couverture chocolate, not compound. It costs more and we'd rather charge accordingly than quietly swap it out.
Everything here is eggless
Not 'eggless on request' — the whole kitchen is vegetarian. Every recipe was developed without egg from the start rather than adapted afterwards, which is why none of them taste like an apology.
